KASKEL CHAIR
Client: Personal Project
Year: 2018
kaskel reinterprets the chair with armrests: instead of a heavy shell, it uses a skid frame made of bent wire that traces the contours of a shell chair. This frame holds a seat shell made of molded wood and encloses it like a clamp. Additional comfort is provided by the wrapped armrests, which connect the two elements both constructively and visually. kaskel conveys the warmth and comfort of an armchair and yet appears light and unobtrusive.

jüngerkühn is a design studio creating products, digital manufacturing processes and installations.
In their digital craft based practice they challenge the boundaries of materials and manufacturing processes and experiment with new production methods and models. They use digital technologies like robotics to enable new material-driven production that draws on the richness of crafted objects. In their practice digital tools are especially interesting for the design and manufacturing of products as they allow for both larger quantities and high flexibility at the same time.
