A-OK
Client: Personal Project
Year: 2019
a-ok is a classic wooden chair with modern details that is informed by an archetypical kitchen chair. Four straight-line legs hold the smoothly shaped seat and the oval backrest. These two moulded wood parts that are visually and tactually soft and pleasing create the chairs friendly appeal. Thanks to the elongated rear legs that continue over the back, a-ok has an additive character and graphic quality. Likewise, the open end-grain at the strut's top section adds a subtle material contrast and formal interest. Cutouts from the seat further emphasise the minimalist design approach and give room for the legs.

jüngerkühn is a design studio creating products, digital manufacturing processes and installations.
In their digital craft based practice they challenge the boundaries of materials and manufacturing processes and experiment with new production methods and models. They use digital technologies like robotics to enable new material-driven production that draws on the richness of crafted objects. In their practice digital tools are especially interesting for the design and manufacturing of products as they allow for both larger quantities and high flexibility at the same time.
